Hello and Welcome to Thatcham WI
We meet at The Catholic Church Hall, Bath Road, Thatcham every 2nd Thursday of the month at 7.30pm Running the WI

We are a friendly and welcoming group with over 60 members of all ages and interests; to meet those interests we have many groups which meet in between our regular monthly meetings:
The Craft group, the Walking Group, the Gardening Group, the Book Group and the Film Club. Groups Page
The Coffee Catch Up is a chance for us to get together for a coffee at the Thatcham Garden Centre at 10.30am on the last Saturday of each month (occasionally this changes due to other events on that day and Bank Holidays)
We love to welcome visitors to our meetings where we have a variety of speakers. For a taste of the speakers we have had and have planned for this year, please see our 2024/25 Programme page where the current year’s meetings are listed.
As we’ve mentioned above, visitors are very welcome. There is a charge of £4.00 per meeting and you are welcome to visit for 3 meetings before we ask if you’d like to join us as a member. Many of our visitors join before the 3 meeting deadline!
For more information on our Groups, please visit the Groups Page where there is more detail on what each group does and how often they meet. However you do not have to join any of these if you don’t want to or they just are not your cup of tea.
Talking of ‘Tea’ – and of course either Cake or Biscuits to go with the tea – we have a break for these at our monthly meetings and the walking group always manage to find a lovely café for just such a stop. Check out the Walking Group for more information on Tea and Cake and upcoming walks.
Twice a year we throw open the doors for everyone to join us for a Coffee Morning. This is a fund raising event and there is lots more information on the Coffee Morning and Fundraising page. Fundraising and Awareness
Each year in October we celebrate our Birthday – Thatcham WI was born in 1938 and has grown in strength every year. We also make sure to celebrate special events such as Jubilees and Coronations. We have a stall at the Thatcham Fun Day at the end of June and at the Thatcham Festival in October.
