Federation Event

"Have a Go" Croquet - 16th July 2025

14 ladies from across Berkshire County attended Caversham Croquet Club.  After a practice session, all enjoyed a competitive match and both teams finished with a draw of 3 games each.

There then followed a delicious afternoon tea, a wonderful selection of sandwiches and homemade cakes and unlimited cups of tea.

A wonderful afternoon with great company.

Dying to be Beautiful - 1st May 2025

Dr Kathryn Harkup, author of ‘A is for Arsenic’ gave a very informative talk to packed room at the Earley Crescent Centre,

“Throughout history humans have sought to embellish and augment their physical appearance. As fashions change new contraptions, cosmetics and costumes are devised. There has often been little regard given to comfort and well-being when it comes to the body beautiful, and as this talk illustrates, some fashions can be fatal.”

Basic Sewing Machine Skills Workshop - 30th April 2025

Ladies from several WIs learnt how to use their sewing machines. An enjoyable morning was had by all. Although there was plenty of chatting all came away pleased that they had learnt new skills.
