Welcome to Berkshire Women's Institute Chavey Down
We were formed in 1975 and celebrated out 40th Birthday in 2015.
We are always looking for new members with different ideas. Our interests are trips to the theatre, gardens, walks, Christmas Markets, lunches,dinners, coffee mornings and afternoon teas throughout the year which are organised by our wonderful outings secretary Angela.
We meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at St Martin's Hall in Church Road at 7.45pm.
I often get asked why the WI? I tell them at our meetings you are yourself, not someone’s Mother, Daughter, Wife, or Grandmother. For 2 hours you can relax, listen to some interesting speakers, chat and have a cup of tea/coffee and cake and perhaps win a raffle prize. We have a flower of the month competition and a competition linked to the subject in the programme and there are cups to win for both. We would welcome you as a visitor or as prospective member you can visit to see if you would like to become a member.
