About Us

My name is Jennie Abbott-Hauxwell and I was elected the new President of Burghfield WI in March 2018.

Having celebrated our first 100 years in 2017, I am honoured to be the herald for our next century.  Along with our Committee, I aim to present an inspirational and exciting programme to motivate our membership.  Our varied programme includes superb speakers, craft evenings, taking part in natonal and international topical campaigns, and a chance to catch up with all the local and national WI news.  Of course there is also time for meeting old friends and making new ones over a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

In addition to these meetings we enjoy extra activities including visits, walks, crafts, meals and many more.

Formed in 1917, Burghfield WI is the longest running WI in Berkshire, and presently has about 50 members.  We would love you to come and join us at one of our monthly meetings.  We meet at Burgfield Village Hal on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm.
